Thailand, Phi Phi to Krabi

It's been an interesting day! If you followed my blog when I was in New Zealand you may recall the story of me leaving my phone on the top of the car one day and driving off. Phone flew off roof and car behind drove over it!! New phone required!!  I was insured but in the end decided that I needed a new phone anyway and never made a claim. Anyway, I've  done it again! I was leaving the resort I was staying at on Phi Phi. It involved catching a long tail boat to the main ferry port. To get on the long tail boat you have to wade into the water, throw your gear on and then climb over the side yourself. As I was climbing over said side of boat I had my phone secured in the back pocket of my shorts via a Velcro pocket flap. My body position caused pressure on the phone, causing itto ride up the inside of the pocket, push the Velcro flap open and fall out into the sea! I was easily able to retrieve it as the water was only a couple of feet deep. But alas, it spluttered and died! I dried it out but it still wouldn't fire up. So when I arrived in Krabi I took it to a phone shop where a technician declared it dead! On this occasion I decided to make an insurance claim. What a fiasco. I specifically insured my phone and tablet as add ons to my main insurance policy at quite a cost. But what they want in order to process a claim..... from Thailand..... beggars belief!! Anyway they've got what i could give them but I'm not holding my breath!! It really makes you wonder whether it's  worth it! What about if it was a kid with no money and no other means of communicating. What would they do?
So, I've  got that off my chest. Other than that it's  been a good day. Great ferry journey and the hotel in Krabi is the best of the trip so far. Went to the local market for supper, where once again the line up was awesome, and did some comfort eating!! Lots of it!!
