Change of Plan!!

My first post of the trip comes from Abu Dhabi Airport! It's 1.30 am local time - 9.30 pm in the UK and after a 7 hour stint from Manchester to AD, I'm just waiting to board the flight for the second leg of the journey from AD to Kuala Lumpur. It's due to leave here at 2.20 am, arriving KL at 13.50 local time. Allowing for a further 4 hours time difference the flight time is another 7.5 hours. Joy!! Anyway, as the title suggests, the actual reason I'm blogging already is to communicate a change of plan!! I was going to Mandalay in Burma from KL to start.  I've now decided to start from Phuket in Thailand instead and work my way up to Burma from there. Otherwise no change to the remainder of the itinerary ie Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam in that order thereafter. Just boarded and the flight is all but empty. I've got a 4 seat row all to myself, so asap after take off it'll be shoes off, put the arm rests up and get some sleep!! Result!!  It's only an hour and a half to Phuket from KL so will be there just before 6.00 pm. Aaannndddd ..... until such time as I can make a more culturally orientated offering, I attach a recent picture of my grandson!! Can't believe he's 6 months old already! Enjoy!!
